Bringing the Tea to the Penn LGBT Center
Saturday, June 29th from 6-9pm
Social – There will be good company and games!
Food – The heralds are providing tea! This is a dry site. And there will be very light snacks. But we have been advised that because of wildly diverse allergies that it’s best to allow people to order their own food individually for delivery. Philadelphia has restaurants that use pretty much all of the standard delivery apps. The LGBT Center is within range of delivery from Chinatown with the Fantuan app.
You are welcome to bring snacks to share, but please provide a complete ingredients list.
When you order delivery, the LGBT Center Carriage House’s address is 3907 Spruce Street. The big purple arrow on the map is where they will enter from Spruce Street (between two buildings – just beyond the trash cans).
If you want food close enough to pick up, there’s pizza from Allegro’s, TexMex from Qdoba’s, Greek food from The Greek Lady, and vegetarian fast food from Hip City Veg.

How to get there: I’ve highlighted a few possible walking paths
a) the shortest one, through campus, takes you on a wide brick-lined path (Locust Walk) through campus, over a steep pedestrian bridge to cross 38th Street, and then on a diagonal off to your left once you encounter the campus art that looks like large red dancing tubes. You won’t see the Carriage House at first, but if you keep going, it will suddenly appear as your path comes around to the front of the building.
b) the longest one has you following named streets – going out to the Walnut Street sidewalk, walking uphill to 40th street and then turning left. And then after you pass a crosswalk with a University of Pennsylvania sign, you’ll pass another building and then there will be a couple parallel paths into campus on either side of a little green mound and some seating. Follow those paths until the Carriage House appears from behind some shrubberies!
If you do not want to walk, find someone with a UPenn ID (ask at registration to be matched up) and we can take up to 2 guests on the internal PennBus and Penn Evening Shuttles that go from 3401 Walnut Street to the Dental School. You can also take the 21 bus from 34th & Walnut to 40th & Walnut.
